The surgical techniques of the time were conducted manually and with metallic instruments; such methods are outdated in the modern day.
As history however, this book offers an in-depth look at the ophthalmologic discipline in its early years. Advancement in medical science characterized the 19th century: and this book may be considered a summation of the progress of eye medicine through that era. This book contains over thirty illustrations, diagrams and tables, variously depicting the anatomy of the eye, plus methods of treatment and surgery.
